Bill Title: Amends the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Act. Requires the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority to establish procedures, allocate, and disburse funding received under the federal Victims of Crime Act for the purpose of supporting youth in foster care, as well as prevention services in the child welfare system. Provides for the adoption of rules.

1 | AN ACT concerning State government.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Act | |||||||||||||||||||
5 | is amended by adding Section 7.3 as follows:

6 | (20 ILCS 3930/7.3 new) | |||||||||||||||||||
7 | Sec. 7.3. Foster care services funding. Pursuant to the | |||||||||||||||||||
8 | powers and duties set forth in subjection (k) of Section 7, the | |||||||||||||||||||
9 | Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority shall | |||||||||||||||||||
10 | establish procedures, allocate, and disburse funding received | |||||||||||||||||||
11 | under the federal Victims of Crime Act for the purpose of | |||||||||||||||||||
12 | supporting youth in foster care, as well as prevention | |||||||||||||||||||
13 | services in the child welfare system, consistent with that | |||||||||||||||||||
14 | Act. The Authority shall adopt rules to implement this | |||||||||||||||||||
15 | Section.
