TWENTY-EIGHTH LEGISLATURE, 2015
STATE OF HAWAII

A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating to capital improvement projects for the university of hawaii.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $6,925,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2015-2016 for the purpose of financing capital improvement projects for the University of Hawaii, as follows:

1. Waikiki aquarium

Plans, design, construction, and equipment to replace the air conditioning system, repair the roof, resurface the concrete walkway in the behind-the-scenes work area, install a new enclosed visitor entrance reception desk area, and repair and reinforce the building's concrete structural elements.

2. Softball stadium, Manoa

Plans, design, construction, and equipment for renovations, upgrades, and improvements to the softball stadium. Project to include ground and site improvements, infrastructure, equipment, appurtenances, and all related project costs.

Plans $ 250,000

Design 250,000

Construction 5,000,000

Equipment 500,000

Total funding $ 6,000,000

SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation that are unencumbered as of June 30, 2018, shall lapse as of that date.

SECTION 3. The sums appropriated for the respective capital improvement projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the University of Hawaii for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2015.
