relating to requiring approved alcohol seller training programs to | ||
include training on recognizing and treating opioid-related drug | ||
overdoses. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 106.14, Alcoholic Beverage Code, is | ||
amended by adding Subsections (b-1) and (b-2) to read as follows: | ||
(b-1) An approved seller training program described by | ||
Subsection (b) must include training on: | ||
(1) the signs and symptoms of an opioid-related drug | ||
overdose; and | ||
(2) the administration of an opioid antagonist. | ||
(b-2) For the purposes of this section, "opioid antagonist" | ||
and "opioid-related drug overdose" have the meanings assigned by | ||
Section 483.101, Health and Safety Code. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. | ||
