WHEREAS, The second annual Lil Earl's Hometown BBQ Throwdown | ||
is taking place at the historic Harrison County Courthouse in | ||
Marshall on April 12 and 13, 2013; and | ||
WHEREAS, An International Barbeque Cookers Association | ||
championship event, the cook-off features highly skilled pit | ||
masters who will be entering the contest to vie for top honors; and | ||
WHEREAS, A fund-raiser for the Marshall Food Bank, the BBQ | ||
Throwdown is being held in conjunction with the city's Second | ||
Saturday festivities, which include a car show and live | ||
entertainment; participants will enjoy a fun, family-oriented | ||
atmosphere along with great food and spirited competition; and | ||
WHEREAS, Lil Earl's Hometown BBQ Throwdown is a fitting | ||
celebration of the tasty cuisine that is such an integral part of | ||
Texas culture, and the gathering is all the more special for the | ||
valuable support it is providing to people in need in the area; now, | ||
therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd | ||
Texas Legislature hereby commemorate the second annual Lil Earl's | ||
Hometown BBQ Throwdown and extend sincere best wishes to all those | ||
involved for an enjoyable and rewarding event; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for the cook-off as an expression of high regard by the | ||
Texas House of Representatives. |
