R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The second annual Lil Earl's Hometown BBQ Throwdown
  is taking place at the historic Harrison County Courthouse in
  Marshall on April 12 and 13, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, An International Barbeque Cookers Association
  championship event, the cook-off features highly skilled pit
  masters who will be entering the contest to vie for top honors; and
         WHEREAS, A fund-raiser for the Marshall Food Bank, the BBQ
  Throwdown is being held in conjunction with the city's Second
  Saturday festivities, which include a car show and live
  entertainment; participants will enjoy a fun, family-oriented
  atmosphere along with great food and spirited competition; and
         WHEREAS, Lil Earl's Hometown BBQ Throwdown is a fitting
  celebration of the tasty cuisine that is such an integral part of
  Texas culture, and the gathering is all the more special for the
  valuable support it is providing to people in need in the area; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the  House of Representatives of the 83rd
  Texas Legislature hereby commemorate the second annual Lil Earl's
  Hometown BBQ Throwdown and extend sincere best wishes to all those
  involved for an enjoyable and rewarding event; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the cook-off as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
