relating to a common characteristic or use project in a public | ||
improvement district in certain municipalities. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 372.0035(a), Local Government Code, is | ||
amended to read as follows: | ||
(a) This section applies only to: | ||
(1) a municipality that: | ||
(A) has a population of more than 750,000 and | ||
less [ |

than two million; or | ||
(B) has a population of more than 325,000 and | ||
less than 625,000; and | ||
(2) a public improvement district established under | ||
this subchapter and solely composed of territory in which the only | ||
businesses are: | ||
(A) hotels with 100 or more rooms ordinarily used | ||
for sleeping, if the district is established by a municipality | ||
described by Subdivision (1)(A); or | ||
(B) hotels with 75 or more rooms ordinarily used | ||
for sleeping, if the district is established by a municipality | ||
described by Subdivision (1)(B). | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
