       Introduced  by  Sen. MAZIARZ -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
         printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government
       AN ACT to amend the general municipal law,  in  relation  to  the  speed
         limit of the town of Sweden, county of Monroe
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. The article heading of article 9 of the  general  municipal
    2  law is amended to read as follows:
    3    REGULATION OF USE OF CARS, BICYCLES AND [SIMILAR] OTHER VEHICLES
    4    S  2. The general municipal law is amended by adding a new section 182
    5  to read as follows:
    6    S 182. SPEED LIMITS FOR THE TOWN OF SWEDEN.   NOTWITHSTANDING  SECTION
    7  ONE  THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED SIXTY-TWO-A OF THE VEHICLE AND TRAFFIC LAW, IN
    8  THE TOWN OF SWEDEN, COUNTY OF MONROE, SPEED LIMITS APPLICABLE THROUGHOUT
    9  SUCH TOWN OR WITHIN DESIGNATED AREAS OF SUCH TOWN MAY BE ESTABLISHED  AT
   10  NOT LESS THAN TWENTY-FIVE MILES PER HOUR.
   11    S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
