          Committee on Health
        AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to  the  registration
          of live births
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Subdivision 2 of section 4130 of the public health law,  as
     2  amended  by  chapter  506  of  the  laws  of 1955, is amended to read as
     3  follows:
     4    2. The birth of each child born alive in this state  shall  be  regis-
     5  tered  within [five] fifteen days after the date of birth by filing with
     6  the registrar of the district in which the birth occurred a  certificate
     7  of  such  birth,  which  certificate  shall  be upon the form prescribed
     8  therefor by the commissioner.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
