        Introduced  by  M. of A. MAYER, PRETLOW -- read once and referred to the
          Committee on Education -- recommitted to the Committee on Education in
          accordance with Assembly Rule 3, sec. 2 -- committee discharged,  bill
          amended,  ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said commit-
          tee
        AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to boards of  cooperative
          educational services
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Section 1950 of the education law is amended  by  adding  a
     2  new subdivision 8-d to read as follows:
     3    8-d.  Notwithstanding  any  other provisions of law to the contrary, a
     4  school district in a city having a population in excess of  one  hundred
     5  ninety  thousand inhabitants but less than two hundred thousand inhabit-
     6  ants and  which  contracts  with  a  board  of  cooperative  educational
     7  services  of the supervisory districts serving its geographical area for
     8  programs and services shall not be liable for payment of  administrative
     9  expenses  as  provided  for  in  paragraph b of subdivision four of this
    10  section or any other section of law regarding the contractual  provision
    11  of such programs and services.
    12    § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after
    13  it shall have become a law.
