Summary

To encourage cooperation and foster a better and more efficient working relationship between state and local police agencies and the BICE with regard to persons arrested under state law and who are reasonably suspected of being in the U.S. in violation of federal immigration laws, as provided for in the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act, passed by Congress in 1996 and signed into law by the President.
