STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Sixteen

 

AN ACT relative to compatibility of electrical devices with the National Electric Code and the state building code.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Paragraph; Consumer Protection Act; Acts Unlawful; Sale of Electrical Devices.  Amend RSA 358-A:2 by inserting after paragraph XVI the following new paragraph:

XVII.  Selling an electrical appliance, product, or device that is not compatible and capable of functioning with the electrical equipment required to be installed by the most recent edition of the National Electric Code or the New Hampshire building code, as defined in RSA 155-A:1, IV.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect January 1, 2017.
