Short Title:        WS/FC School Board Vacancies.		(Local)

A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to provide for vacancies on the winston‑salem/forsyth county school board to be filled by appointment by the remaining members of the board.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  Section 2(a)(5)(iv) of Chapter 112, Session Laws of 1961, reads as rewritten:

"(iv)      AllNotwithstanding the provisions of G.S. 115C‑37(f), all vacancies occurring during a term of office shall be filled by appointment by the Board of Commissioners of Forsyth Countyremaining members of the Winston‑Salem/Forsyth County Board of Education for the unexpired portion of the term.term of the vacated seat."

SECTION 2.  This act is effective when it becomes law and applies to vacancies on the Winston‑Salem/Forsyth County Board of Education occurring on or after that date.
