AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 73-7-12, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO AUTHORIZE THE STATE BOARD OF COSMETOLOGY TO ADMINISTER AND MONITOR STUDENT TESTS USING CONTRACTED ADMINISTRATORS AS NECESSARY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Section 73-7-12, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:
73-7-12. (1) Effective
January 1, 2020, the State Board of Cosmetology shall * * *
terminate its student testing contract with proper notice and shall be
authorized to administer and monitor examinations for cosmetologists,
estheticians, manicurists and instructors at such times and locations as
determined by the * * * State Board of Cosmetology, and may
contract for administrators in its discretion. No member of the board
shall be authorized to personally administer the examinations.
(2) This section shall stand repealed on July 1, 2021.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2019.
