House Resolution 94
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE MARSHALL ACADEMY PATRIOTS BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM UPON WINNING THEIR THIRD CONSECUTIVE CLASS AA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
WHEREAS, the Marshall Academy Patriots Boys Basketball Team finished the 2012-2013 season with an outstanding record of 35 wins and 4 losses; and
WHEREAS, the Patriots did very well in tournament play this year, winning the Class AA State Championship by beating Central Private by a score of 64-54; and
WHEREAS, the 2012-2013 Patriots team is comprised of the following members: Colt Lindsey, Dalton Prichard, A.J. Boyd, Thomas Faulkenbery, Tobe West, Jacob Driggers, Brian Novarese, Randy Love, Devonte Smith, Tristan Person, Dakota Dailey, Vince Hoyt, Peyton Lewis, Antonio Love and Brad Bennett and managers Ben Shaw and Juston Mask; and
WHEREAS, the Patriots have been superbly coached and inspired by Head Coach Craig Dailey and assitants, Chris Cook, Christopher Hedglin, Michael Clifton, David Robilio and Zach Rogel who have inspired the team and enhanced their skills on the court; and
WHEREAS, the Patriots have developed a winning and cooperative spirit and an outstanding degree of sportsmanship, and their activities reflect great credit upon each of the players and their coaches and bring honor and respect to Marshall Academy; and
WHEREAS, Coach Dailey praised his top seven players: Bennett, Lewis, Dailey, Randy, Antonio, Devonte and Vince for their outstanding work in the tournament; and
WHEREAS, all of the team members will carry the lessons learned throughout their lives as they compete in athletics and these lessons will enhance their opportunities to be outstanding citizens; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by such exemplary accomplishments as those made by the Marshall Academy Patriots Boys Basketball Team:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Marshall Academy Patriots Boys Basketball Team for winning the State Class AA State Championship for the third consecutive year.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Marshall Academy, Coach Craig Dailey, assistant coaches and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
