A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE DISTINGUISHED CAREER AND STELLAR SERVICE THAT MR. ERIC DONALD JORDAN PROVIDED TO THE MILITARY VETERANS AND ALL CITIZENS OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI.

     WHEREAS, for nearly 30 years, Mr. Eric Donald Jordan, has been on the vanguard of public service to the State of Mississippi and all of her citizens, particularly those who are veterans of the various branches of the United States Armed Forces; and

     WHEREAS, having begun his services to the great Magnolia State in 1989 as Administrator of the East Mississippi State Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi, Mr. Jordan provided exceptional leadership and guidance to the daily operations of the facility, to ensure that the patients, their family and members of the hospital personnel were cared for with the utmost professionalism and a heightened level of dignity and respect; and

     WHEREAS, establishing a reputation of success in administration, Mr. Jordan took his knowledge of patient care to the State Veterans Home in Collins, Mississippi, after being hired by the Mississippi State Veterans Affairs Board in 1996, and four years thereafter, promoted to Administrator of the Collins facility in recognition of his meritorious management, which culminated in 2005 with his promotion to the State Veterans Affairs Board's Nursing Home Coordinator; and

     WHEREAS, an unmitigated commitment to service, coupled with an unparalleled work ethic positioned Mr. Jordan to be recognized again in 2011, this time as the individual tapped by the Mississippi State Veterans Affairs Board to serve as Director of Operations, and on occasion, when circumstances would necessitate, as acting executive director of the board; and

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend the laudable services of such selflessly devoted stewards of state service as Mr. Jordan:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the distinguished career and stellar service that Mr. Eric Donald Jordan provided to the military veterans and citizens of the State of Mississippi.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Eric Donald Jordan, the Mississippi State Veteran Affairs Board and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
