Summary

An Act To Amend Section 37-17-6, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Establish An "achievement School District" As An Organizational Unit Of The State Department Of Education To Operate And Manage Certain Schools Or School Districts Which Have Been Rated As Failing For Three Consecutive Years, To Provide That The Achievement School District Shall Be Under The Supervision Of A Deputy State Superintendent Of Education And The State Board Of Education, To Provide For The Selection Of The Deputy Superintendent, To Empower The Deputy Superintendent And The State Board Of Education To Manage Or Contract For The Management Of Such Schools Or School Districts For A Term Not Exceeding Five Years; And For Related Purposes.
