Summary

Create a new section of Subtitle 17A of KRS Chapter 304 to define "acquired brain injury," "outcome," and "treatment"; provide that a health benefit plan that provides coverage for treatment of a post-acute acquired brain injury shall be exempt from the assessment required by KRS 304.17B-021 if medical, physical, cognitive, and affective behavioral rehabilitation treatments of the insured is covered, that the covered treatment shall be provided at one of the listed types of licensed and accredited facilities for a minimum of 60 visits per calendar year, and coverage shall not be denied solely because the facility is not geographically proximate to the insured; require the commissioner of the Department of Insurance to promulgate administrative regulations to implement the provisions of this section.
