Summary

Amend KRS 367.3645 to allow security freezes for protected persons to be requested by methods established by the consumer reporting agency; prohibit consumer reporting agencies from charging a fee for the placement or removal of a security freeze or the creation of a record for a protected person; make technical corrections; amend KRS 367.365 to allow security freezes for consumers to be requested by methods established by the consumer reporting agency; prohibit consumer reporting agencies from charging a fee for the placement, temporary lifting, or removal of a security freeze, or for providing or replacing a personal identification number or password; remove the expiration of a security freeze after seven years; make technical corrections; EMERGENCY.
