| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Mary Catherine Shaw of Springfield, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed way on September 1, 2018; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Mary Shaw was born in Springfield to Don and | ||||||
| 6 | Kathleen Shaw on May 12, 1976; she graduated from Sacred | ||||||
| 7 | Heart-Griffin and earned a bachelor's degree and a master's | ||||||
| 8 | degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois; | ||||||
| 9 | she married Shawn Berry at Sunset Pointe in Disney World in | ||||||
| 10 | Orlando, Florida on May 15, 2006; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Mary Shaw was employed as the Director of | ||||||
| 12 | Government Affairs at the Illinois Teacher's Retirement | ||||||
| 13 | Association, a position she had held since 2013; previously, | ||||||
| 14 | she worked in communications for the Illinois Senate Democratic | ||||||
| 15 | Caucus; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Mary Shaw was preceded in death by her father; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Mary Shaw is survived by her husband, Shawn, and | ||||||
| 18 | her son, Lucas; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 20 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||

| 1 | Mary Catherine Shaw and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
| 2 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
