2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Joe Keith Wasson of Moline, formerly | ||||||
4 | of Silvis, who passed away on February 10, 2024; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Joe Wasson was born to J. Kenneth and Lillie B. | ||||||
6 | Martin Wasson in McDonough County on April 7, 1929; he married | ||||||
7 | Doris Ross in Monmouth on June 5, 1948; he served in the U.S. | ||||||
8 | Army during the Korean War; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Joe Wasson was a counselor and science teacher at | ||||||
10 | Moline High School for over 25 years, retiring as head of the | ||||||
11 | Counseling Department; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Joe Wasson was a member of Christ United | ||||||
13 | Methodist Church; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Joe Wasson and his wife, Doris, loved traveling | ||||||
15 | and going on cruises; he also enjoyed working in his woodshop | ||||||
16 | and was an avid collector of paperweights; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Joe Wasson was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
18 | and his wife of 75 years, Doris; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Joe Wasson is survived by his children, Janet |

1 | (Thomas) Struss and Jeffrey (Dianne) Wasson; his | ||||||
2 | grandchildren, David (Nina) Struss, Annika (Kevin) Buell, and | ||||||
3 | Trevor Wasson; and his great-grandson, Caden Struss; | ||||||
