2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Mary Ann Schmitzer of Alton, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on January 6, 2009; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, She was born December 8, 1933, in Alton, the | ||||||
6 | daughter of James "Fred" and Amelia "Margaret" (McClintock) | ||||||
7 | Gaul; she married Joseph Schmitzer on April 7, 1956, at St. | ||||||
8 | Ambrose Catholic Church in Alton; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in | ||||||
10 | Alton and graduated from Marquette Catholic High School in | ||||||
11 | 1951; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, She loved counted cross stitch and spending time | ||||||
13 | with her grandchildren; she worked for Phyllis Schlafly's Eagle | ||||||
14 | Forum for 40 years, retiring in December 2003; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband; her | ||||||
16 | parents; and a brother, James Frederick II; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, | ||||||
18 | JoAnn and Rollan Jouett Jr.; her grandchildren, Kathryn and | ||||||
19 | Ryan Downey, Stephen Jouett and Matthew Jouett; her | ||||||
20 | great-granddaughter, Isabel Downey; her sister, Margie Kim; |

1 | her brother, John E. Gaul; and several nieces and nephews; | ||||||
2 | therefore, be it

3 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | ||||||
4 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
5 | her family and friends, the passing of Mary Ann Schmitzer; and | ||||||
6 | be it further
| ||||||
7 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
8 | presented to the family of Mary Ann Schmitzer as a symbol of | ||||||
9 | our sincere sympathy.
