Bill Title: Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Requires the Department of Healthcare and Family Services to apply for all available federal funding to promote community inclusion and integration for persons with disabilities, regardless of age, and older adults so that those persons have the option to transition out of institutions and receive long-term care services and supports in the settings of their choice. Effective immediately.

SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
305 ILCS 5/12-4.54 new

Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Requires the Department of Healthcare and Family Services to apply for all available federal funding to promote community inclusion and integration for persons with disabilities, regardless of age, and older adults so that those persons have the option to transition out of institutions and receive long-term care services and supports in the settings of their choice. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT concerning public aid.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
5adding Section 12-4.54 as follows:
6 (305 ILCS 5/12-4.54 new)
7 Sec. 12-4.54. Community-based long-term services;
8application for federal funding. The Department of Healthcare
9and Family Services shall apply for all available federal
10funding to promote community inclusion and integration for
11persons with disabilities, regardless of age, and older adults
12so that those persons have the option to transition out of
13institutions and receive long-term care services and supports
14in the settings of their choice.
15 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
16becoming law.
