Bill Title: Reinserts the provisions of the introduced bill with the following changes: Provides the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation shall adopt rules for continuing education for persons licensed under the Act that require a completion of 25 hours (rather than 24 hours) of approved continuing education per license renewal period. Provides that for each license renewal period, one hour of continuing education shall be domestic violence and sexual assault awareness education as prescribed by rule of the Department (rather the one hour of continuing education in domestic violence and sexual assault awareness education being required for the initial renewal and permissive for subsequent renewals).

1 AN ACT concerning regulation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Massage Licensing Act is amended by
5changing Section 67 as follows:
6 (225 ILCS 57/67)
7 (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2027)
8 Sec. 67. Continuing education. The Department shall adopt
9rules for continuing education for persons licensed under this
10Act that require a completion of 25 24 hours of approved
11continuing education per license renewal period. For each
12license renewal period, one hour of continuing education shall
13be domestic violence and sexual assault awareness education as
14prescribed by rule of the Department. The one-hour domestic
15violence and sexual assault awareness continuing education
16course shall be provided by a continuing education provider
17approved by the Department. The Department may adopt rules
18regarding the requirements for domestic violence and sexual
19assault awareness continuing education courses and teachers.
20The Department shall establish by rule a means for the
21verification of completion of the continuing education
22required by this Section. This verification may be
23accomplished through audits of records maintained by the

1licensee, by requiring the filing of continuing education
2certificates with the Department, or by other means
3established by the Department.
