A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO PUBLIC NOTICE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 1, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§1- Online publication of notice. Notwithstanding any other statute, law, charter provision, ordinance, or rule to the contrary, whenever publication of notice in a newspaper of general circulation is required, such notice may be given in an online news publication that has its primary place of business in the State and is registered with the department of commerce and consumer affairs."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
