AN ACT REQUIRING SOCIAL WORKERS AND HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS TO REPORT ANIMAL ABUSE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require social workers and health care providers to report animal abuse to the appropriate authorities.

Statement of Purpose:

To have instances of animal abuse documented and reported by those individuals who may be among the first persons to learn of such events in order to enable the appropriate authorities to address such abuse and any attendant issues as early as possible.
