An act relating to elections.

SB 632, as introduced, Caballero. Candidate statements.
Under existing law, candidates for certain elected offices may prepare and file candidate statements in the office of the county elections official to be included in the county voter information guide sent to each voter by the elections official.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to require a county elections official to accept any candidate statement preapproved by the Secretary of State without requiring any additional modification or amendment to the preapproved candidate statement.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to require a county elections official to accept any candidate statement preapproved by the Secretary of State without requiring any additional modification or amendment to the preapproved candidate statement.
