AN ACT

 

amending title 28, chapter 7, article 12, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 28‑2405; relating to special plates.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 28, chapter 7, article 12, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 28-2405, to read:

START_STATUTE28-2405.  Special plate database; website; registration documents; annual report

A.  The department shall establish and maintain a publicly available special plate database that CONTAINS the following INFORMATION:

1.  The total number of special plates that are issued by the department.

2.  The name of each special plate, the name and mission statement of the entity receiving donations from each special plate and the total amount of monies each entity receives in donations each year from the special plate.

B.  The department shall include a link to the special plate database on the department's website.

C.  The department shall include the information prescribed in subsection A of this section on special plate original registration receipts and on special plate renewal notices and renewal receipts.

D.  On or before April 1 of each year, the department shall submit a report of the information prescribed in subsection A of this section for the previous calendar year to the governor, the president of the senate and the speaker of the house of representatives and shall provide a copy of this report to the secretary of state.
