Summary

The purpose of this bill is to allow a physician-patient or podiatrist-patient relationship to be established through audio-only communication, unless the physician or podiatrist, in her or her sole discretion and professional judgment, determines that interactive video using store and forward technology, real-time videoconferencing or similar secure video services is necessary to conform to the standard of care; and to enable physicians and podiatrists to practice telemedicine using secure telephonic communication or similar secure real time audio-only communication.
