WHEREAS, The family and friends of U.S. Navy Petty Officer | ||
3rd Class Clayton R. Beauchamp of Weatherford suffered an | ||
immeasurable loss with his death on August 7, 2012, at the age of | ||
21; and | ||
WHEREAS, Petty Officer Beauchamp was assigned to the 1st | ||
Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division (Forward), I Marine | ||
Expeditionary Force (Forward) out of Camp Pendleton; he was killed | ||
while serving as a medical corpsman in the Shaban district of | ||
Helmand Province in Afghanistan; and | ||
WHEREAS, Clayton Ross Beauchamp was born in Weatherford on | ||
January 16, 1991, to Jack and Diana Tomlin Beauchamp; a member of a | ||
family with a proud history of military service, he committed to | ||
joining the navy on his 17th birthday in 2008 and began his | ||
enlistment after graduating from Weatherford High School the | ||
following year; his older brother Christopher and his younger | ||
sister, Cheyenne, are also members of the U.S. Navy; and | ||
WHEREAS, In the course of his tenure, Petty Officer Beauchamp | ||
earned a Combat Action Ribbon, the Navy and Marine Corps | ||
Achievement Medal, and the Navy Good Conduct Medal, and he was | ||
posthumously awarded the Purple Heart; and | ||
WHEREAS, This valiant Texan was known for his courtesy and | ||
kindness, as well as for his ready grin and quick wit; he was | ||
engaged to be married and planned to one day become a paramedic | ||
following his return to civilian life; and | ||
WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt to our nation's men | ||
and women in uniform, whose courageous sacrifices are deserving of | ||
their fellow citizens' deepest respect and gratitude; through his | ||
unwavering dedication to duty and honor, Clayton Beauchamp embodied | ||
the highest ideals of the United States armed forces, and memories | ||
of him will forever be cherished by all those who held him dear; | ||
now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Petty Officer 3rd | ||
Class Clayton R. Beauchamp and extend sincere sympathies to the | ||
members of his family: to his parents, Jack and Diana Beauchamp; to | ||
his sister, Cheyenne Beauchamp; to his brothers, Brian Beauchamp, | ||
Christopher Beauchamp, and Timothy Kisor; to his grandmother, | ||
Brenda Atchison; to his aunts and uncles, James and Susan Brook and | ||
Danny and Debbie Hood; to his fiancee, Ashlin Judd; and to his other | ||
relatives and friends; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of | ||
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Clayton | ||
Beauchamp. |
