WHEREAS, Hilary Jacobs Shine is retiring as executive | ||
director of communications for the City of Killeen on August 1, | ||
2021, drawing to a close an exemplary tenure that has spanned two | ||
decades; and | ||
WHEREAS, Ms. Shine earned a degree in speech communications | ||
from The University of Texas at Austin in 2000 and briefly worked | ||
for the Killeen Chamber of Commerce before assuming her current | ||
position in 2001; over the course of her tenure as head of the | ||
communications department, she has represented Killeen at events | ||
and in the media and has been involved in legislative advocacy | ||
efforts at the state level; she also hosts the Good News Killeen | ||
webcast on the city's Facebook page; and | ||
WHEREAS, Through her dedication, professionalism, and | ||
commitment to excellence, Hilary Shine has greatly benefited the | ||
residents of Killeen and earned the respect and admiration of her | ||
colleagues, and she may indeed reflect with pride on her | ||
contributions as she begins the next exciting chapter of her life; | ||
now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby congratulate Hilary Jacobs Shine on her | ||
retirement as executive director of communications for the City of | ||
Killeen and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, | ||
be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Ms. Shine as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
House of Representatives. | ||
