R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Hilary Jacobs Shine is retiring as executive
  director of communications for the City of Killeen on August 1,
  2021, drawing to a close an exemplary tenure that has spanned two
  decades; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Shine earned a degree in speech communications
  from The University of Texas at Austin in 2000 and briefly worked
  for the Killeen Chamber of Commerce before assuming her current
  position in 2001; over the course of her tenure as head of the
  communications department, she has represented Killeen at events
  and in the media and has been involved in legislative advocacy
  efforts at the state level; she also hosts the Good News Killeen
  webcast on the city's Facebook page; and
         WHEREAS, Through her dedication, professionalism, and
  commitment to excellence, Hilary Shine has greatly benefited the
  residents of Killeen and earned the respect and admiration of her
  colleagues, and she may indeed reflect with pride on her
  contributions as she begins the next exciting chapter of her life;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Hilary Jacobs Shine on her
  retirement as executive director of communications for the City of
  Killeen and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Shine as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
