WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Computer Education Association | ||
are gathering in Austin on April 4, 2013, to celebrate the first | ||
Educational Technology Day at the State Capitol; and | ||
WHEREAS, Founded in 1980, TCEA promotes the use of technology | ||
in teaching and education; the largest state nonprofit organization | ||
of its kind, the association has more than 15,000 members; and | ||
WHEREAS, TCEA encourages an active interest in technology | ||
among elementary and secondary school students as well as at the | ||
higher education level; to achieve its goal, the group provides | ||
preservice and in-service training for educators, offers | ||
professional development opportunities, and sponsors an annual | ||
convention and exposition; and | ||
WHEREAS, The innovative incorporation of technology in the | ||
classroom will provide generations of young Texans with the skills | ||
they need to be productive citizens in the 21st century and will | ||
contribute immeasurably to the continued prosperity of the Lone | ||
Star State; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
Legislature hereby recognize April 4, 2013, as Educational | ||
Technology Day at the State Capitol and extend to the delegation | ||
from the Texas Computer Education Association sincere best wishes | ||
for a meaningful and informative visit; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for TCEA as an expression of high regard by the Texas House | ||
of Representatives. | ||
