R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Computer Education Association |
|
are gathering in Austin on April 4, 2013, to celebrate the first |
|
Educational Technology Day at the State Capitol; and |
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1980, TCEA promotes the use of technology |
|
in teaching and education; the largest state nonprofit organization |
|
of its kind, the association has more than 15,000 members; and |
|
WHEREAS, TCEA encourages an active interest in technology |
|
among elementary and secondary school students as well as at the |
|
higher education level; to achieve its goal, the group provides |
|
preservice and in-service training for educators, offers |
|
professional development opportunities, and sponsors an annual |
|
convention and exposition; and |
|
WHEREAS, The innovative incorporation of technology in the |
|
classroom will provide generations of young Texans with the skills |
|
they need to be productive citizens in the 21st century and will |
|
contribute immeasurably to the continued prosperity of the Lone |
|
Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize April 4, 2013, as Educational |
|
Technology Day at the State Capitol and extend to the delegation |
|
from the Texas Computer Education Association sincere best wishes |
|
for a meaningful and informative visit; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for TCEA as an expression of high regard by the Texas House |
|
of Representatives. |
