relating to requiring the Department of Public Safety to maintain | ||
an office in Liberty County. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 411, Government Code, is | ||
amended by adding Section 411.034 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 411.034. OFFICE IN LIBERTY COUNTY. (a) The Texas | ||
Highway Patrol division of the department shall maintain an office | ||
in Liberty County. | ||
(b) The department shall staff the office with a sufficient | ||
number of officers to regularly patrol Liberty County. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the | ||
legislative session. |
