AN ACT

Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An

2

act relating to the public school system, including certain

3

provisions applicable as well to private and parochial

4

schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the

5

laws relating thereto," further providing for courses of

6

study in high school.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

8

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Section 1605 of the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.

10

30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended

11

by adding a subsection to read:

Section 1605.  Courses of Study.--* * *

13

(c)  In grades nine through twelve, instruction in labor

14

history shall be integrated into all relevant courses pertaining

15

to American culture, American government or American history.

16

The Secretary of Education shall establish a sample curriculum

17

to assist school districts in offering such instruction.

18

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
