| A RESOLUTION |
| |
1 | Designating November 26, 2011, as "Small Business Saturday" in |
2 | Pennsylvania. |
3 | WHEREAS, Black Friday is regarded as the busiest shopping day |
4 | of the year and is increasingly promoted by large retailers; and |
5 | WHEREAS, Cyber Monday has emerged as the busiest shopping day |
6 | for online retail purchases; and |
7 | WHEREAS, Small business in this Commonwealth has long been |
8 | the key cog in our engine of economic growth; and |
9 | WHEREAS, Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and |
10 | the glue that holds our communities together; and |
11 | WHEREAS, Small businesses are the leading job creators in |
12 | America; and |
13 | WHEREAS, Thanksgiving weekend is traditionally the kickoff of |
14 | the holiday shopping season and is vitally important to our |
15 | local retailers; therefore be it |
16 | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate |
17 | November 26, 2011, as "Small Business Saturday" and urge |
18 | Pennsylvanians to give special consideration to patronizing |
