| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending Title 30 (Fish) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated |
2 | Statutes, further providing for deputy waterways conservation |
3 | officers. |
4 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
5 | hereby enacts as follows: |
6 | Section 1. Section 305 of Title 30 of the Pennsylvania |
7 | Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read: |
8 | § 305. Deputy waterways conservation officers. |

10 | (a.1) Employment preference.--A deputy waterways |
11 | conservation officer who has completed at least three years of |
12 | active service prior to the taking of the civil service exam for |
13 | waterways conservation officer or waterways conservation officer |
14 | trainee shall be eligible for the following preference applied |
15 | to the civil service exam score and applicant selection process: |
16 | (1) A deputy waterways conservation officer who passes |
17 | the civil service exam for waterways conservation officer or |
18 | waterways conservation officer trainee shall have ten points |

1 | added to the officer's final score. |
2 | (2) A deputy waterways conservation officer who is among |
3 | the top three available candidates on the certification list |
4 | for waterways conservation officer or waterways conservation |
5 | officer trainee shall have mandatory preference appointment |
6 | over nonveteran candidates. |
7 | (3) A deputy waterways conservation officer who is on |
8 | the civil service list for the position of waterways |
9 | conservation officer or waterways conservation officer |
10 | trainee may be appointed regardless of the officer's rank on |
11 | the list. |

13 | Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days. |
