          printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government

        AN ACT to amend the town  law,  in  relation  to  aquatic  plant  growth
          control districts

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Subdivision 10-e of section 198 of the town law,  as  added
     2  by chapter 602 of the laws of 1967, is amended to read as follows:
     3    10-e.  Aquatic  plant  growth control district. After an aquatic plant
     4  growth control district has been established, the town  board  may  take
     5  such  action  as  may  be required to adopt plans and specifications and
     6  enter into a contract or contracts, or take such other action as may  be
     7  required, for the control of aquatic plant growth and for the control of
     8  aquatic  invertebrates classified as invasive by the department of envi-
     9  ronmental conservation within the district as it may deem to  be  neces-
    10  sary or desirable.
    11    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
