          printed to be committed to the Committee on Investigations and Govern-
          ment Operations
        AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to the authority  of  the
          attorney-general  to  investigate  certain  claims  related  to talent
          contracts
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section  1. Section 63 of the executive law is amended by adding a new
     2  subdivision 17 to read as follows:
     3    17. Notwithstanding any law, regulation, policy or rule to the contra-
     4  ry, have the power and authority to investigate claims related to talent
     5  contracts, whether the agents who  are  signatory  to  those  agreements
     6  reside  physically  within  the state of New York or in another state or
     7  territory. The attorney-general shall have sole authority  to  determine
     8  whether  to pursue a case under this subdivision, but should an investi-
     9  gation be conducted and a violation be discovered, the  attorney-general
    10  shall refer such case to the chief prosecutor for the relevant jurisdic-
    11  tion for their consideration and possible action.
    12    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
