       Introduced  by  Sen.  ROBACH -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
         printed to be committed to the Committee on Higher Education
       AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to requiring colleges  to
         notify  students  whether  dormitories  are  equipped  with  sprinkler
         systems
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1.  The education law is amended by adding a new section 6438
    2  to read as follows:
    3    S 6438. NOTIFICATION  OF  SPRINKLER  SYSTEMS  IN  DORMITORIES.    EACH
    4  COLLEGE  SHALL  NOTIFY  EACH  INCOMING STUDENT WHO WILL BE RESIDING IN A
    5  DORMITORY UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THE COLLEGE WHETHER THE DORMITORY IS
    6  EQUIPPED WITH A SPRINKLER SYSTEM. FOR  THE  PURPOSES  OF  THIS  SECTION,
    7  "SPRINKLER SYSTEM" SHALL HAVE THE SAME MEANING AS IN SECTION ONE HUNDRED
    8  FIFTY-FIVE-A OF THE EXECUTIVE LAW.
    9    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
