LATIMER -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government AN ACT to amend chapter 137 of the laws of 1877 relating to incorporat- ing the library and reading room of the village of Port Chester in Westchester county, in relation to a free association library THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Section 2 of chapter 137 of the laws of 1877 relating to 2 incorporating the library and reading room of the village of Port Ches- 3 ter in Westchester county, as amended by chapter 424 of the laws of 4 2008, is amended to read as follows: 5 S 2. The corporation hereby created shall exist for the purpose of 6 establishing and maintaining a FREE ASSOCIATION library and reading room 7 in the village of Port Chester in Westchester county, and providing the 8 inhabitants of both the village of Port Chester and the village of Rye 9 Brook all library services for so long as each village shall provide 10 suitable and equitably apportioned funding, as agreed by all parties, 11 sufficient to maintain minimum service standards, subject to such 12 by-laws, restrictions and regulations regarding admissions to the bene- 13 fits of said corporation as shall be made by the trustees thereof, 14 provided, however, that there shall be no charge whatever for admission 15 to the library or reading room and no payment of money shall be required 16 to entitle any inhabitant of said villages to the use, benefit and 17 enjoyment thereof. 18 S 2.
