          printed to be committed to the Committee on  Energy  and  Telecommuni-
          cations
        AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to webcasting of
          public meetings
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. Section 1002 of the public authorities law  is  amended  by
     2  adding a new subdivision 3 to read as follows:
     3    3.  The  authority  shall  webcast all public meetings on the official
     4  website maintained by the authority. All meetings shall be recorded  and
     5  shall  be  made  accessible  from the official website maintained by the
     6  authority for a period of at least one year. After one year, the author-
     7  ity may archive the recording, but must retain a  copy  of  the  meeting
     8  that shall be made available to the public upon request.
     9    § 2. Section 1020-c of the public authorities law, as added by chapter
    10  517  of  the  laws  of 1986, is amended by adding a new subdivision 4 to
    11  read as follows:
    12    4. The Long Island power authority shall webcast all  public  meetings
    13  on  the official website maintained by the authority. All meetings shall
    14  be recorded and shall be made accessible from the official website main-
    15  tained by the authority for a period of at least  one  year.  After  one
    16  year, the authority may archive the recording, but must retain a copy of
    17  the meeting that shall be made available to the public upon request.
    18    §  3.  This  act shall take effect on the thirtieth day after it shall
    19  have become a law.
