        COMMENDING  the  Ile  Osa Kanran Yoruba Cultural &
        Spiritual Temple upon the occasion  of  hosting  the
        Egbe Festival on Sunday, May 29, 2022

  WHEREAS,  It is the custom of this Legislative Body, in keeping with
its time-honored traditions, to  recognize  and  pay  tribute  to  those
organizations  which  foster  ethnic  pride  and  enhance the profile of
cultural diversity which strengthens the fabric of  the  communities  of
New York State; and

  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this  Legislative  Body  is  justly  proud  to
commend  the  Ile Osa Kanran Yoruba Cultural & Spiritual Temple upon the
occasion of hosting the Egbe Festival on Sunday, May 29, 2022; and

  WHEREAS, The goal of the Ile Osa Kanran Yoruba Cultural &  Spiritual
Temple is to give reverence to Olodumare and pay homage to our ancestors
(Egun) and the Orishas; and

  WHEREAS,  The  Ile Osa Kanran Yoruba Cultural & Spiritual Temple was
founded by Baba Ifayinka (Leader Carl Fanfair) and Iya Ifabunmi (Camille
Fanfair) through the guidance of the spiritual forces known as  Orishas;
and

  WHEREAS,  Ile  Osa  Kanran  is  a  Yoruba  temple  derived  from the
Trinidadian line of the Yoruba practice; its mission is  to  uplift  the
name  of  Olodumare  (GOD)  bringing positive light and awareness to the
Traditional Yoruba way of life (religion); and

  WHEREAS, Based in the Bedford-Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn,  the  Ile
Osa  Kanran  Yoruba  Cultural  & Spiritual Temple's aim is to positively
impact the community by  providing  community  outreach,  targeting  the
youth through young mentorship and exposure to the Yoruba culture; and

  WHEREAS,  It  is  the  sense  of  this  Legislative  Body  that when
spiritual organizations of  such  noble  aims  and  accomplishments  are
brought  to  our  attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
commend  the  Ile Osa Kanran Yoruba Cultural & Spiritual Temple upon the
occasion of hosting the Egbe Festival on Sunday, May 29, 2022; and be it
further

  RESOLVED, That copies of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted  to  the  Ile Osa Kanran Yoruba Cultural & Spiritual Temple,
and the Egbe Festival Committee.
