Senate Resolution No. 700

        HONORING  the  Brooklyn  Tomahawks  Inc.  upon the
        occasion  of   its   20th   Anniversary   Kick   Off
        Celebration  and Awards Ceremony Dinner on March 23,
        2019

  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to  recognize  the
achievements of those organizations that substantially contribute to the
vitality  and  well-being  of  their  communities  and this great Empire
State; and

  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor the Brooklyn
Tomahawks Inc. upon the  occasion  of  its  20th  Anniversary  Kick  Off
Celebration  and  Awards  Ceremony  Dinner  to  be held at St. Stephen's
Church Hall, Brooklyn, New York, on Saturday, March 23, 2019; and

  WHEREAS, The Brooklyn Tomahawks Inc., a not-for profit  organization
established  in  1999,  provides  youth  tackle  football  to the entire
Flatbush, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Crown Heights and Brownsville area; and

  WHEREAS, This vital organization's program  encourages  children  in
the community to engage in a positive and enriching activity; and

  WHEREAS,  The  goal of the Brooklyn Tomahawks Inc. is to develop the
physical and mental  capabilities  of  the  children  in  the  community
through  sports activity; its focus is not only centered on teaching the
game of football,  but  instilling  the  values  of  a  good  education,
discipline, team work and responsibility in a fun safe environment; and

  WHEREAS,  In addition, the program stresses the importance of mental
determination, self-confidence and good  sportsmanship,  all  invaluable
attributes on and off the field; and

  WHEREAS,  It  is  with  great  pleasure  that  this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional organization and its contributions to  the
communities of Brooklyn, fully confident it will continue to serve as it
has thus far; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the  Brooklyn  Tomahawks  Inc.  upon  the  occasion  of  its  20th
Anniversary  Kick  Off Celebration and Awards Ceremony Dinner; and be it
further

  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to the Brooklyn Tomahawks Inc.
