MILLER -- read once and referred to the Committee on Governmental Employees -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said commit- tee AN ACT to authorize Gina Kehoe of the town of Montgomery to take the competitive civil service examination for the position of police offi- cer and be placed on the eligible list for employment as a full-time police officer for the town of Montgomery police department The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 58 of the civil 2 service law, including the age requirements under paragraph (a) of 3 subdivision 1 of such section, or any other provision of law to the 4 contrary, Gina Kehoe, employed by the town of Montgomery, in the county 5 of Orange, as a part-time police officer, shall be eligible to take the 6 competitive civil service examination for the position of police officer 7 and shall, contingent upon her score on such examination, be eligible to 8 be placed on the eligible list for appointment as a full-time police 9 officer for the town of Montgomery police department. 10 § 2. Gina Kehoe shall otherwise be subject to the merit and fitness 11 provisions of the civil service law applicable to full-time police offi- 12 cers. 13 § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
