        AN  ACT  to amend the public health law, in relation to the reporting of
          the results of clinical laboratory services performed at  the  request
          of a qualified health care practitioner
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. The public health law is amended by adding  a  new  section
     2  576-d to read as follows:
     3    §  576-d.  Reporting of clinical laboratory results and findings.  The
     4  results and findings of any clinical laboratory service, requested by  a
     5  qualified  health care professional, shall only be reported by the labo-
     6  ratory performing such service to the health  care  professional  making
     7  the  request for the laboratory service, his or her agents or his or her
     8  designated employees. Provided, however that such findings  and  results
     9  shall  be  reported,  at any time to the individual to whom the clinical
    10  laboratory services relate or were performed upon, upon written  request
    11  of  the individual submitted to the clinical laboratory or the qualified
    12  health care professional.
    13    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
