       AN ACT to amend the public officers law, in relation to  abolishing  the
         benefits  of an elected official who is convicted of a felony directly
         related to such official's elected position
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1. The public officers law is amended by adding a new section
    2  3-d to read as follows:
    3    S 3-D. ABOLISH BENEFITS; FELONY CONVICTION. ANY ELECTED PUBLIC OFFICER
    4  WHO IS CONVICTED OF A FELONY PURSUANT TO ARTICLE ONE HUNDRED NINETY-FIVE
    5  AND ARTICLE TWO HUNDRED OF THE PENAL LAW SHALL HAVE ALL  BENEFITS  ABOL-
    6  ISHED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, SALARY AND RETIREMENT.
    7    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
