Requires Dept. of Agriculture and DEP to work with US Army Corps of Engineers to establish joint permit application process for aquaculture projects.
CURRENT VERSION OF TEXT

An Act concerning State and federal permits for aquaculture projects, and supplementing P.L.1997, c.236 (C.4:27-1 et seq.).
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. The Secretary of Agriculture and the Commissioner of Environmental Protection shall seek to establish with the United States Army Corps of Engineers a joint application process for aquaculture projects that require both State and federal permits, licenses, or approvals to 1[facilitate] consider requests for1 approvals for aquaculture projects in the State. Each year for the first three years after the date of enactment of P.L. , c. (C. ) (pending before the Legislature as this bill), the Secretary of Agriculture shall prepare and submit, pursuant to section 2 of P.L.1991, c.164 (C.52:14-19.1), to the Legislature a report on the progress made toward establishing and implementing this cooperative effort.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
