An Act concerning the creation of space on the grounds of the State House to be used for the display of certain art works, and supplementing P.L.1992, c.67 (C.52:31-34 et seq.).
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. The State Capitol Joint Management Commission established pursuant to section 4 of P.L.1992, c.67 (C.52:31-37) shall establish and maintain a location in the State House or on the grounds of the State House for the display of art work created by residents of each New Jersey county. The commission shall promulgate standards for the size and quantity of art work.
Each county shall have its art work on display, in a location to be designated by the commission, for at least 60 days. Art work from one county shall not be displayed simultaneously with art work from another county. The commission shall place the art work of another county on display within a reasonable amount of time after the completion of the 60 day display requirement and the removal of the previous art work. The commission shall establish a schedule to ensure that art work of each county is placed on display in a fair and equitable manner.
The Director of Public Information, in the Office of Legislative Services, shall select art work from each county to be displayed at the location designated by the commission. The director shall follow the standards promulgated by the commission in the selection of art work.
2. This act shall take effect on December 31, 2023.
