STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eleven
AN ACT relative to residential fire sprinklers.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Paragraph; Planning Board; Fire Sprinklers. Amend RSA 676:4, I by inserting after subparagraph (i) the following new subparagraph:
(j) A planning board may, as a condition of subdivision approval, require the installation of automatic fire suppression sprinklers in proposed one and 2 family residences, provided that the board finds that said residences would otherwise be scattered or premature for lack of adequate fire protection due to anticipated emergency response times, physical obstacles to access, or inadequate water supply. Such findings shall be made by the board in writing and shall state with specificity the particular project-based circumstances justifying the imposition of such a condition.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
