AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE COUNTY BOARDS OF SUPERVISORS TO ACQUIRE CELLULAR PHONES WHICH MAY BE USED BY THE ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS OF THE COMMISSION ON WILDLIFE, FISHERIES AND PARKS, AND TO PAY THE MONTHLY BILL FOR THE CELLULAR PHONES OUT OF THE COUNTY GENERAL FUND OR ANY OTHER APPROPRIATE FUNDS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The board of supervisors of any county are hereby authorized to acquire cellular phones which may be used by the enforcement officers of the Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, and to pay the monthly bill for the cellular phones out of the county general fund or any other appropriate funds. The board of supervisors shall obtain a statement from the telephone company itemizing all local and long-distance calls before payment of the monthly service may be made. Any enforcement officer of the Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks which uses the cellular telephone for a call that is not approved for payment by the board shall be personally liable for the call and shall be required to reimburse the county.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2011.
